Do either hydroxychol/Plaquenil put you at risk for. My husband has been taking Plaquenil generic hydroxychloroquine for almost 2 yrs. under a rheumatologist's care. He has Sjogren's Syndrome. He became very ill, and was diagnosed w/ viral meningial encephalitis. We were much later told that the Plaquenil had "lowered his tolerance to infection, as it is also an immuno-suppressant."
